It's Christmas Break....

Well, here I am on Christmas break, writing a new post for my blog because my friend whined that I never updated. I suppose that would be because I have been seeing and talking to my friends from home throughout this break, so I haven't felt the necessity to write here to tell them all the minute details of my life. Also, things have been settling in my life. I'm happy to say that there hasn't been very much drama in my life lately, and most of my advancements have been reasonably small. Little moments that make me smile, days spent with old friends, and so much more of the beautifully mundane.

It's strange being away from school long enough to miss the biting wind and rainy climes of Cleveland, but I know going back will be bittersweet. I've found out that so much can happen through a computer screen that you come back pleasantly surprised by what you find. I've also found out that college makes some people grow apart just a little. Some people go off and start lives of their own, and then you come home to realize that you don't have as big a place in that person's life anymore. Those sorts of adjustments are a little harder to make, but alas, they must be made.

Despite all these wonderful things that have happened at home, though, I do miss my friends from college. I have two utterly fabulous girlfriends who have been there with me through all sorts of crazy things, and I don't know that I could go on knowing that I would never see them again. Once you've taken half an hour to walk the mile or two to Target with someone, you have a bond that can't be broken. Let's not forget all the cups of coffee and orange pop as well...and Christmas in a Cup!!

So, now I have one more week when most of my friends are home, and then it's time to figure out what to do for that last week. I'll miss everyone, but if there's one thing I've learned over break, it's that there are some things that will remain strong, and some people who will be in my life for a good while longer. So, good luck to all those going back to college, and I can't wait to see you again soon!
